About pavé
A modern pavé named for the U-shaped grooves visible in profile. Typically set on a rounded surface with smooth side walls. U-cut pave maximizes the size of diamond to the width of metal and exposes the girdles of the diamonds from the side since there are no bright cut walls. The melee are tight together making them appear to float, with minimal visible metal.
